Creating a Beachside Escape

Spaces Collective dreams up a beachy and boho vibe for our Designer Series

23 April 2023

As soon as interior designer Natalie Balen-Cinelli stepped into the 988-sq. ft. Seasons condo, she knew exactly what it needed: a beachy-boho vibe.

Natalie, along with her business partner, Julia Salerno, make up Toronto-based interior design firm Spaces Collective. The duo joined our team to offer up four chic, practical, and instantly-memorable staged suites at Concord Park Place’s Seasons Condos in North York, Toronto.

Before you head out to our Seasons weekend Open Houses to check out the suite for yourself, read on to find out how Spaces Collective created a subtle beachside escape.

The Design Process

Every design journey starts with a vision. To bring this coastal concept to life, a mood board was a must. Here’s a peek at the Beachy & Boho inspiration for the two-bed, two-bath plus den unit.

Throughout this calming space, there is a holistic light and airy feeling. To achieve this, the suite’s cream-coloured features and finishes and light wood flooring dictated the style touches and their hues.

We’ve got terracotta, which is this beautiful burnt colour. We’ve got lots of tans that mimic the colour of the sand. And we’ve got a lot of white […] We accessorized this unit with a lot of dried florals. They give a lot of textures and they’re a natural fibre, which really helps the theme.

The Grand Tour

Hear all the beachy design details from Natalie herself as she walks through the space.

No tour is complete without a pro tip to help you channel your inner interior decorator. The secret to a Beachy & Boho theme is in the textures, says Natalie.

You gotta get yourself a big, crystalized coral. You can find these at any home store

A subtle, yet intentional, contrast is created in the kitchen and dining space thanks to a grey Carrara marble backsplash with a composite quartz countertop. Miele kitchen appliances tie it all together.

When you visit Seasons’ four staged suites during one of our weekend open houses, you’ll actually also be taking two tours. That’s because this development’s sister condominium, Saisons, currently under construction, will feature the same unit layouts as Seasons.
